It’s coming! The 2025 Ford Explorer is due for a remodel, and when the 2025 arrives, it will be new and improved from head-to-toe.
The transformation will make the latest Expedition the envy of the carpool lane. So, what can you expect to see when you go to a Ford dealer? Here’s what’s new.
An Even More Luxurious King Ranch Trim
Ford’s King Ranch trim level is known for its luxury features, but it looks like it’s going even more upscale with the 2025 Expedition. While still under cover, glimpses of the King Ranch show lots of bronze details, including the rear bumper, front grille, and the wheels.
Other exterior updates to the King Ranch include more LED lighting across the front. A full-length light bar to be exact has been spotted stretching across the bottom of the front grille, adding to the two LED headlights.
A New Design for the Rear End
Some of the most significant updates appear to be around the back of the Expedition. The rear wiper arm is now at the top of the glass instead of the bottom, and the LED taillights are slimmer, and they’ve been rearranged.
Updated Technology
Since this is an all-new version of the Expedition, when it finally arrives at your Ford dealer, you can expect to see new technology in the cabin. One of the updates includes a huge 48-inch display screen stretching across the front of the dash and in front of the driver. If you’ve seen the display in the Lincoln Nautilus, it will look familiar. If it works the same way as the Nautilus, the top screen will not actually be a touchscreen. Instead, a smaller 11.1-inch touchscreen mounted in the center of the dash will be the controller.
It also looks like not all of the functions are controlled through the screens. The climate an volume will still have the same knobs from the current model.
Power Will Probably Stay the Same
When it comes to updates, there’s no reason to fix what’s not broken, and the Expedition’s engine is already a good one. The 3.5-liter V-6 under the hood of the current generation puts out 380 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque for the entry-level trims. Choosing the higher-end Limited gets you this same engine, but it’s tuned to put out 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. This higher output version of the V-6 engine can push the large Expedition from zero to 60 mph in just six seconds.
There is some speculation that the 2025 model will be offered with a hybrid powertrain. This isn’t too much of a stretch since the F-150 received a hybrid options, but for now, we will have to wait and see.
The New Expedition Is Ready for Any Expedition
When the 2025 Ford Expedition arrives at your local Ford dealer, it will still be big, but also bolder and better equipped with modern tech.
