Innovations in Other Areas

Can automotive technology be applied in other areas of the market? Would you like to see your footwear and pillows put themselves back where they belong at the end of the day? If you want to see these things happen or see how automotive technology added to other items you want to see what Nissan is up to. The automotive brand has found a way to make some wild creations by making use of their ProPILOT technology and applying it to a variety of different items that you’ll want to see move on their own.

This technology is new in the Nissan models you want to drive but was applied to office chairs in 2016 to give us some chairs that could be right for those in a line. The ProPILOT Chair was designed and able to detect the chair in front of it to follow along in a line at a crowded restaurant in Japan. This real-world testing that took place across Japan gave those waiting to have their dining experience the ability to have a seat that would keep their place in line as they waited for their turn at the establishment.

New Experiences with ProPILOT

Nissan has recently announced they are creating a new location called ProPILOT Park Ryokan, which looks like a traditional Japanese inn, called a ryokan, but when you get inside this location, you’re going to see a variety of differences as items seem to move on their own. The slippers, tables, and cushions in this hotel all feature a special version of the ProPILOT Park autonomous parking technology that will allow them to move back to where they belong around the hotel. This means nothing will be out of place when you engage this technology to put things back where they belong.

It’s amazing to think that this car company has created self-parking slippers, tables, and cushions that will automatically return to their designated locations around the hotel with the push of a button. This is certainly the next step above self-parking chairs that can follow along with each other to be able to return to where they need to go in order to offer the perfectly aligned look of the room when you’re done making use of the room for the night. If you travel to Japan, this may be the perfect place for you to spend a night and enjoy the experience.

The ProPILOT Park Ryokan is located in Hakone, Japan and right now you can earn a free one night stay if you enter the Twitter contest between now and February 10. This means you could have a free night in a hotel that has items that are made to move on their own. These self-parking slippers have also been used and are being shown off at the Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery in Yokohama. If you can’t make it to the hotel, you can still see these slippers in action if you visit Japan and want to see this technology in action.
