2022 GMC Canyon: Just a Bit More Quality

The midsize pickup truck market isn’t a place where you expect to find luxury items, but that’s exactly what the GMC Canyon offers.

While mechanically identical to the Chevy Colorado, the Canyon offers you a unique application of the qualities you want when you’re looking for a truck that’s more comfortable to drive. You certainly can have a rugged version of this GMC, but you can also reach to a near-luxury model to experience a higher quality of living with a midsize truck when you take it out on the road.

You’ll Find a Better Drive

Even though you’ll find a body-on-frame build for this midsize GMC truck, you’ll have a drive that feels much more like a crossover than anything else on the road. The reason for this smooth ride is the chassis which has been engineered to deliver a fantastic ride on the roads.

If you want a Canyon that rides the trails like a champion, the AT4 model will be the right version of this truck for you. This 4WD version comes with the off-road goodies you’re looking for when you want to hit the trails and enjoy the adventures that await you in the wilderness.

Why Should You Choose the GMC Canyon?

Visit your local dealership and take this GMC truck out for a drive. You’re going to find that the Canyon is comfortable to drive on the road, it has the availability of a diesel engine (something not found anywhere else in this class), and you’ll love the intuitive infotainment system. Select the premium Denali trim for the upscale features you want, or let the rugged AT4 model take you out on the trails for a drive. If you want this truck to do some towing, it’s rated to pull up to 7,700 pounds to where you want to go.

A Higher Quality Cabin

We could tell you the Canyon gives you a practical and functional interior, but the same can be said for all of the midsize trucks in the market. What you’ll admire about the cabin area of this truck are the upscale materials that are being used to give you the comfort and premium feeling you’re looking for. The cabin is spacious, making it a good place for up to four people to enjoy the drive, especially if you select the Crew Cab model of this truck.

An Admirable Build of Capability and Toughness

The GMC Canyon does not shy away from what this brand has offered for many years. You expect trucks that wear the GMC name to be tough, rugged and packed with capability features. The Canyon does have some chrome trim, but that doesn’t make it any less capable. You’ll find the CornerStep rear bumper to help you get in the bed, the EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate, and several cargo tie-downs in the bed. These items make this truck useful and ready to carry the gear you want to take with you.

You’ll also find a 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engine that is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission for your drive. This powertrain brings you 181 horsepower, 369 lb.-ft. of torque, and 7,700 pounds of towing. Fuel mileage reaches 20 city/30 hwy mpg in 2WD versions and 19 city/28 hwy mpg when 4WD is included.

Where Can You Take this Truck?

When you want the most comfort and premium features, the Denali trim is the right one for you. You can drive this truck to work every day when you have a long commute, or you can take it to the job site and let it help you get things done. This is a great truck for weekend fun by the lake or an evening out with your date.
