Lincoln Navigator, Excellent Choice Comes in the Form of the 2016

When you are looking to drive the largest Lincoln for the 2016 model year the Navigator is the vehicle of choice.  For many years the Lincoln Navigator has represented a more sensible approach to a large luxury vehicle which has made it a choice of many.  The Navigator may not come with all the bells and whistles that you can get on a Cadillac Escalade or Mercedes-Benz GL, but it does have the ability to tow up to 9,000 pounds and has the power of a new turbocharged V6 engine that can do much more with less size and fewer cylinders.

Because the Navigator starts at a much lower price than the Escalade or the German models it is a much more affordable vehicle than the competition.  For 2016 this big SUV adds the new Sync 3 infotainment system which uses and eight-inch touch screen to control the communications, entertainment and navigation systems.  This upgrade alone makes the Navigator a much more enjoyable vehicle to drive with updated systems that can help you find your way and provide the entertainment your passengers will desire.

As mentioned, the Navigator has a new engine.  This engine just might be the strongest V6 on the market with its 9,000 pound towing capacity.  This 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine puts out 380 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.  Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, this engine offers a great way to enjoy more power with better fuel efficiency.  The Navigator makes a range of fuel mileages from 16 city/22 hwy to 15 city/19 hwy based upon the model chosen.  The choices are between a short or long wheel base and rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.  With this power and the choice of different features you can really enjoy the right drive and setup in your new Navigator.

On the inside the Navigator is large and spacious regardless of the wheelbase.  Both are available with three rows of seats and offer second row captain’s chairs to give you room for seven to ride inside the SUV.  This can be updated to eight passengers at no additional cost.  As you would expect there is plenty of room for all in all seats and there is a large storage area behind the third row of seats.  Add in the leather and wood all around the inside and you see why the Navigator continues to be a well-loved vehicle.

As you might expect and be very familiar with, the Navigator is a large rolling box on wheels.  This means it could be difficult to maneuver, but for those who can handle the size this SUV is enjoyable to drive.  The grand front grill with a large overall face gives you the knowledge this is an extremely attractive and imposing vehicle is ready to get dirty and take on some business.  The Navigator is a great vehicle for towing, working and riding in near luxury as one of the only vehicles of this size in its class that comes at a price this low.

Speaking of price; the Navigator for 2016 starts out at $64,000 for the RWD short wheel base mode while the L (longer wheel base) begins at $66,650.  The four-wheel drive model adds $3,000 to the price of either model and heading up to a fully loaded long wheel base 4WD model the price and easily reach up as high as $80,000, which is still much less than the top models of some of the competition.

For this price, you can be sure you will get some amazing features and great equipment to utilize.  Either wheel base offers the Select and Reserve trims.  The base Select model offers the Sync 3 system with an eight-inch touch screen, a navigation system, voice commands, a 14-speaker THX II-certified audio system, heated and cooled front seats, leather across the first two rows, a power tailgate, adjustable pedals, push button starting, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, a rearview camera, front and rear warning sensors and puddle lights under the exterior mirrors.  This gives you an extremely well-equipped vehicle that can certainly offer you plenty to enjoy even at the base model.

Adding the optional features can take the Navigator from low luxury on up the line.  The additional features include extended leather to the third row, wood accents throughout, 22-inch wheels, power running boards, upgraded floor mats, a moonroof and the Lincoln Drive Control with the 4WD which can give you a fantastic Navigator to enjoy on and off the road.

The Lincoln Navigator can be the most sensible choice in this class.  With a smooth ride and a large size, when you need something that will get the job done and give you all the comfort you desire, this is the vehicle to take out on the road or on the trails to have a great time with a larger crowd than most other SUVs.
