The base engine found in the CLS400 is the 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 that offers 329 horsepower, 354 lb.-ft. of torque and gives a fuel mileage of 20 city/30 hwy mpg for the RWD model and 20 city/28 hwy mpg for the AWD version.
The second engine that is powering the CLS550 is a 4.7-liter twin turbocharged V8 which offers you 402 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. This version carries in 17 city/26 hwy mpg for the RWD model and 17 city/24 hwy mpg for the AWD version. This is the model that is the most popular from the CLS-Class.
At the top of the lineup the CLS63 AMG S 4Matic the engine is a 5.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine that offers you 577 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. This high powered sport tuned machine gives you 16 city/22 hwy mpg of fuel mileage. When it comes to a luxury sport model that can head to the track, this is the version you want to take out there for a turn of fun.
As a Mercedes-Benz model the CLS-Class offers and amazing drive. The CLS400 uses a steel spring suspension with the other using an adjustable air suspension to give you a smooth and comfortable ride. At the AMG level the car comes in with a racing tuned suspension and can make it to sixty mph in less than four seconds in the AMG model. All CLS models offer twelve airbags, Attention Assist drowsiness monitor, electronic stability and bi-xenon headlights. As the sport model, the AMG offers a limited slip rear differential as a standard part of the package.
The options you can add to the CLS include full LED headlights, a rearview camera, heated and ventilated front seats, a split folding rear seat, an electric trunk closer, Adaptive High Beam Assistance, Distronic PLUS cruise control, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Parktronic with Advanced Parking Assist, and Night View Assist PLUS with Pedestrian Detection. The AMG does offer the use of carbon-ceramic brakes and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
