There is an RS model on its way which will have an active turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but until then, the only powertrain offered for the Traverse is the 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 310 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to the new nine-speed automatic transmission to make sure you can have the benefit of as much as 27 mpg on the highway on FWD models and 25 mpg on the highway in AWD versions.
